Corydon, IA. Country Clipper Mowers, a division of Shivvers Manufacturing, donated a zero turn mower to the Wayne County Conservation Board. The Wayne County Conservation Board, located in southern Iowa, was established in 1955 to help obtain and develop county parks, preserve forests, wildlife and to promote good citizenship
by programs and public recreation. “Wayne County has an excellent park system and we are pleased to offer support for them,” said Carl Shivvers, President of Shivvers Manufacturing.
The Wayne County Conservation Board consists of five volunteer members: Jan Ledyard – Chairperson, Bill(B.J.) Alley – Vice Chair, Diane Olsen Schroeder, Tom Rockhold, and Nick McVey. Bonnie Friend, Executive Director, and Kenny Banks, Conservation Technician, oversee the upkeep and operation of three county parks; Corydon Lake Park, Lake Side Park, Moore Gosh Park; and one state park; Bob White. They also maintain nearly 1,100 acres at Medicine Creek Wildlife Management Area. “We are very thankful for this generous donation that Shivvers will be making, allowing the grass maintenance to be completed in a timely and efficient manner, April through November,” stated Bonnie Friend. The conservation office and maintenance facilities are located at Bob White State Park, outside of Allerton.
